Sunday Walk at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens

Sunday I had the good fortune to spend most of my afternoon at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens which are on the UC Berkeley Campus. The gardens are perched high above the school over looking the city and the bay. To enter they have the option to become a member with unlimited entrances or the non-member entry fee is $10. If I lived near the area I could see becoming a member and spending seasonal afternoons wandering through the gardens. Only problem “No Dogs”.

I don’t think early March is considered the most spectacular time to visit the gardens but there were plants in bloom and as you will see activity in the branches and also in the ponds. I did not get any pictures of the ponds. There are also green houses to wander through. It definitely is a place you can go to many times.

Fiber and Dye Exhibit and Workshops at Berkeley Botanical Gardens

For those of us that are into fiber they are having a fiber and dye exhibit and workshop from March 31 – April 14. Click this link for a panorama of the exhibit.

Enjoy the images, click to enlarge. I wish I knew all the names but I don’t. Maybe you can help me out? If you know any of the names post it below.

Amazing plants… Wish I could help with the names, but don’t now them. I love the colors on these, the subtle greens of the foliage.

Who needs to know the names as long as we enjoy them. The color combos are a nice inspiration for yarn colors don’t you think?

Thanks Mary. The Fibre and Dye Exhibit looks interesting and I think they may have some good workshops. Happy Knitting post Stitches.
