Knitting with Magic Loops | Fingerless Gloves

Magic Loops Again

Once again I think I have conquered the magic loops after my third try. Beginning each row with a pearl stitch threw me for a (magic) loop, but I finally got it. The finished product hopefully will be a pair of fingerless gloves. The next challenge is working with two colors or balls of yarn. I am using number 3 addi turbo needles with a 32″ cord. I started with 40″ cord but found it was too much cord and unmanageable. These are the smallest needles I have knit with so far. Every project has some kind of challenge.

What’s on your needles?

Have you tried the Hiya Hiya 9″ circulars – tiny I know and you find it easier if you use the continental style of knitting, which I taught myself when I worked in Germany when I was 21.

I have not tried magic loop, I wouldn’t know what to do but I think I ought to try.

I found this blog in a search for Hitchhiker. I’ve just started one and had to undo as I missed the bit where you increase both ends of the rows, and I need to sit with a ruler on the pattern, rather than trying to do it like the last row, if you see what I mean?

      Hi Anne Marie,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. I have heard of the Hiya Hiya needles. I will check them out at StitchesWest next week.

In regards to the Hitchhiker scarf, that pattern has gone viral among my knitting group. I think almost everyone has made it. Last night I was out to dinner wearing mine and one of the women commented that she wanted the pattern. I love mine and wear it all the time.
