Sweetie-Pie-Hat

Be Sweet – Sweetie Pie Baby Knit Hat

I made this sweet little baby knit hat for my nephew and his wife. The baby is due next month August 2014.

It takes one skein of Bambino Taffy, 100 yards.
70% organically grown Cotton / 30% Bamboo

The yarn is handmade in South Africa. Sadly the skein is not one continuos piece of yarn. The colors are knotted together, which was a surprise for me when I came up to the first knot.
It is a fun pattern with various pattern changes, striping and finishing with the iCord tie in the end.

Striping

  • Light blue – ribbing (I improvised the picot edging the pattern called for).
  • Dark blue – heart motif
  • Black – stockinette
  • Maroon – Bobbles
  • Pink leads to the tie with an iCord

Meet The Model

Madame Alexander doll and she talks! Believe it or not there is a record in her back with a battery. No chips in those days.  She is wearing her original blue dress that matches the color of her eyes. She was my doll from the 1960’s. How retro is that?

Is this knit hat for a boy or girl baby? That will be determined soon.
